Twitter is a way of communicating with a large number of people at the same time. These people usually share common interests with you. You could think of Twitter as a text-messaging service that is sent to a lot of people at the same time. The messages you send are called tweets and should be no more than 140 characters long. Twitter is sometimes called a “microblogging” site since the tweets are so short.

If you are a blogger, you obviously want the traffic of visitors to your blog to increase. But how can you do this? It helps to understand why people read and subscribe to blogs.

To increase awareness: blogs are an avenue for millions of people to share experiences, express their views and opinions, share information or just share random thoughts.

To communicate: blog subscribers can usually leave comments on a blog post, and may receive replies to their comment. This greatly increases user satisfaction and will keep people coming back to your blog for more.

Your goal is to convert visitors to your blog into subscribers and then into loyal readers. The key to doing this is to publish the kind of content your target audience wants the most.
